We want a high performer with sound engineering skills to lead our Christchurch operation. This may be your ideal role if you have the right blend of technical experience and ambition to develop your career. A unique opportunity to expand your skills into management, sales and customer service.
The role requires a suitably technically qualified person with good mechanical and technical aptitude. We will provide extensive orientation and the support and training to get you up to speed in hands on management of the Christchurch operation and promotion of all services offered from it and our Auckland facility. The successful candidate will:
- Manage the operation (production planning, use of resources, productivity)
- Perform Business management (administration, purchasing and stock control, reporting)
- Promote and actively sell our products and services in the market
- Provide customers with first class customer service and support
- Provide Team leadership including training, direct production support, performance management
- Oversee health and safety compliance and all equipment maintenance
The successful candidate will have previous operational experience in the engineering field with 3 – 4 years suitable work experience in manufacturing. Heat treatment plant operation will be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.
Remuneration offered will be based on the candidate’s qualification and experience.

The company stocks a wide range of special steels and metals sourced from Europe and North America. This operation is complemented by a subsidiary company specialising in the heat treatment of steels and metals. The materials and processes offered service a wide range of high performance engineering and tooling applications.
Our Christchurch operation is based in Sockburn. It carries stock, has metal cutting bandsaw machines and heat treatment plant for servicing South Island engineering, manufacturing and processing industries.
